This photo was taken the Gannet colony on Helgoland island in Germany. As a visitor you can get really close to the edge of the colony.
During sunset, the gannet colony is illuminated from the right side by the sun, the perfect spot and time to take these kind of silhouette photos. The photo is intentionally underexposed, so only the right side of the bird lights up.
